What is the DELE certificate?
The DELE (Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language) is an official diploma that recognizes your Spanish skills both orally and in writing. Based on the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), this test assesses your skills to read, write, speak and understand Spanish from the A1 level to the C2 level (link to the different language levels).
You will be evaluated on your written comprehension, your written expression, your oral expression, your expression, and finally on the grammar and the vocabulary (according to the levels). The success of all events is a requirement to obtain the DELE.
How many DELE levels are there?
DELE is divided into six levels.
Level A1 – Breakthrough
Level A2 – Waystage
Level B1 – Threshold
Level B2 – Vantage
Level C1 – Effective Operational Proficiency
Level C2 – Mastery
What is the DELE test format?
The DELE exam tests are divided into different groups, depending on the level. Each test includes various tasks, and encompass the following skill sets:
1. Reading comprehension
2. Written expression and interaction
3. Listening comprehension
4. Oral expression and interaction
